Align Your Sound
Welcome to Madeleine Harvey’s “Total Voice Method”, Lesson 6: Align Your Sound. This downloadable voice lesson is all about aligning the pathway of sound. Doing this is crucial if you want your sound to flow freely through your body.
We broke this lesson down into two parts. In the first part, we will be focusing on releasing tension in the head and neck. This will help open your pathway of sound, and will give you easy access to both high and low parts of your range.
The second part of this lesson, will be focusing on releasing tension in your abs, back and pelvis. This will help free your natural voice, giving you a fuller, richer, more memorable sound.
What to Expect in this Voice Lesson
The majority of these exercises are best performed with 100% of your attention. To get the most of these exercises, perform them at a time and in a place that will allow you uninterrupted focus.
There will be times within this lesson that will require standing or the use of your imagination. Please allow yourself the freedom to do this. The muscles we are targeting are small and very subtle. This degree of focus allows us to notice small changes in our body as they happen.
Vocal exploration is not meant to be work. It is meant to be an exploration of your own personal awesomeness. So let’s play!
This downloadable voice lesson should be listened to at a time and in a place where and when you can dedicate your complete attention. This program is not meant to be used when you are operating heavy machinery, motor vehicles or anything that could be labeled as a device, please use your own discretion while participating in this lesson.
Do not attempt to sing if you are sick or if your throat or vocal cords feel strained. If you are experiencing chronic inflammation or suspect you may have any kind of vocal disorder please consult with your doctor prior to participating in this lesson.
